Due Date: April 18, 2011, Monday for Wikipedia project (total points are 100 points)
Due Date: April 20, Monday for blogging
Form a group of two to three people and each group will be given a research topic
Part 1: Objectives and rubrics
1. Well-written - writing skills (at least 4-5 page long) – 30 points _
a. Translate appropriate words/phrases and grammar of the articles you use
b. Interact with native speakers for information and clarification

2. Media literacy - creating charts, graphs, maps of travel routes and other images – 20 points _
a. Charts and graphs used for illustrating important concepts
b. Self-created visual aids and other visualization of data relevant to topic

3. Research Skills – videotaping a dance and/or music of the country – 5 points
4. Collaboration – becoming a critical thinker and team player by posting at least five good inquisitive research questions and blogging on your comments – 15 points

5. Community of Practice – Promoting the awareness of the importance of the concept that we all share one earth, one planet, one global village

  1. Students will be able to write a 50-75 word introduction of their given topic. – 10 points _

  4. Students will be able to explore, evaluate, analyze and synthesize all of the elements in their Wikipedia (please see the above part 1 objectives and rubrics #1 well-written rubrics)
